Gel plate print kit - inc Youtube tutorials
Units in Stock 1

This 'Introduction to gel plate printing' kit is something I developed as a way of providing a ‘shortened’ version of the workshops I normally teach......but in an all-in-one kit, complete with video instructions.
Each kit contains....
- 1 x homemade biodegradable gel plate
- 1 x roller/brayer
- 30 sheets of white A5 paper
- 3 x 50ml bottles of acrylic paint
- 1 template sheet
- Assorted tools/texture-making items
- 25+ YouTube video mini-tutorials
The video tutorials take you through, step by step, starting with the basics of learning how to use a gel plate. Each video is colour coded according to subject and is also suitable for anyone with a hearing impairment.
These tutorials are just my ‘take’ on using a gel plate, based on what I teach in class. I prefer to use tools and textures that I find, including the repurposing of single use plastic and non-recyclable items. This is also why my gel plate is homemade. As well as being a lot more affordable, it is also fully biodegradable when no longer needed, (unlike the commercially available ones) due to one of its ingredients being animal-based catering gelatine. You can cut the plate down to use at smaller sizes, (like little printing blocks?) or carve patterns into it....and then melt it back together afterwards (after a good clean!) into the original format. This is really useful if/when the plate becomes damaged through use.
This would make a great gift for anyone you know who is ‘arty’!
